Childrens Committee . . .
Our Children's Committee is great. It works with the kids of Stafford Township to
be a part of every step of the process. The students make signs and do thank you
notes. They plan fundraisers, brainstorm ideas and gather volunteers. The kids are
learning skills that will last a lifetime. If you want to help be a part of the heart of
this program, call Denise Estelle or Jan Jansson. You won't regret a minute.

Childcare . . .
For the first three days (April 28th ,29th, & 30th) , childcare will be located at the
First Christian Church on Bundy where The Renaissance Child and Kumon Center is
located. Saturday and Sunday's (May 1st & 2nd) location has not yet been
determined. (It will be close to the building site.) If you are a daycare worker or
teacher or have skills for entertaining children from 4 to 12 contact Ana Harp from
the Steering list. We are looking for magicians, clowns, storytellers, jugglers, art
teachers, music teachers games and activities. Different area preschools are getting
involved in organizing great things for our kids to experience while their dreams are
being built down the street.

Design and Special Needs . . .
Vicki Willis is leading this creative pack to provide for our special needs residents
and to ensure Henry County's rich history and culture is represented in the
playground. This committee will try to incorporate a historical information, artistic
influences and cultural aspects of this area. The committee also helps us make sure
we try to include every population possible in designing this structure. It is
important that it has something for everyone to enjoy. This committee is near and
dear to my heart and I know many of you will enjoy planning for our history wall,
tracking down artisans to provide their special touch, and finding many creative
ways to include diverse populations in the F.U.N. Call Vicki Willis She needs your

Donated materials . . .
Do you have the ability to donate something that would be useful to the playground.
Maybe you are great at asking people to help donate items. Even if your knowledge
of materials is limited you could be very useful. We need a lot of things to make this
playground safe and FUN for years to come. The more we have donated, the less the
playground will cost and the more the community can be a part of this great effort.
You might be surprised at some of the FUN things we need that are starting to be
donated. Cardinal Pharmacy donated ear plugs among some other items. I bet that
wasn't the first thing you thought of. If this area appeals to you or you have
something to donate, call Charlie Jones. (Even just working on donating one item is
wonderful, give us a call).

Food . . .
These workers are going to need energy to keep up the great work. The food committee
finds donations from local businesses or recruits talented cooks (unlike myself) to
organize feeding a lot of people. I know we have some great cooks out there and
generous businesses. Not to mention a great deal of experience in our churches. We even
need drinks and goodies for our upcoming events. Its an opportunity to pass on skills to
some young women and men and let the county taste you favorite recipes. Don't let this

Fundraising . . .
We do need to raise a lot of money, but it will save the county a lot and won't come out of
anyone's pay increases. Believe me this is the most cost effective way to improve our
playground and the benefits will be so much greater than a beautiful addition to the
county. It will bring new people into our community to play and see how nice it is here and
how we value our children and our health. We want to have FUN raising 100,000 dollars.
We are looking for ideas, volunteers and youth involvement. We are planning a Pennies
from Heaven drive in February. It will involve all kids from Henry county and beyond. We
will have a team trivia competition in the winter and are applying for grants all the time.
Depending on your interest there are a lot of ways to get involved. Please call Ceil Martin
to share your time and ideas.

Purchased Materials . . .
So you may know quite a bit about building materials and like to be creative. Do you know
quality materials? We are going to have to purchase many things. Maybe you know where
we can get a break on quality materials. Please give Charlie and Ruth Jones a call. They
know their stuff and are FUN to work with but they need YOUR help.

Public Relations . . .
We need flyers and donated paper and printing. We plan to rotate if needed. The hospital
has been kind but we have many more flyers to get out as well as document s with specifics
on the building process. If you are good at creating FUN Flyers or can help us located
generous people/companies to donate some paper and/or copying. Let us know. Call Ricci
Atchison. Any other ideas to get the word out are very welcome. YOU may add a line
supporting us in advertisements or run specials donating money. We will have logos soon to
indicate businesses who supported the playground.

Tools . . .
We will need a variety of tools donated from the public to use during the building of the
project in April 99. These tools will be turned in during the days prior to construction, and
will be guarded by a security team 24 hours. We will need saws, hammers and screwdrivers,
drills, table saws, rotary arm saws, etc. etc. all tools will have a thorough tagging and check
out system to ensure proper use and return of donated tool to the correct owner. Contact
Charlie Jones from the Steering list for more info. Charlie could also use more help in
organizing this effort. He is a great guy and you would enjoy working with him.

Volunteers . . .
Dick and Margeret Hakes need you to help track down volunteers or just volunteer yourself.
We need a lot of kind hearted folks who want to have a good time while doing something for
their community. We need people to call and organize volunteers, prepare and donate food,
serve at booths and fundraisers, and help sign into events. We need people and companies to
HELP US BUILD. Call Dick and Margaret and meet some great folks.
